Winnie
August 22, 2016 - September 27,2021
Winnie is our very first mastiff in our home. She has an attitude like no other. when she was younger she ate a couch and a multitude of other things. As soon as you would open the front door she would bolt as fast as she could, who knows where she was headed. You would do something that she apparently didn't like, and she would go pee somewhere out of spite. My husband and I both worked shift work when we first got her and she would spend her weeks on his parents farm when we were out of town. The farm would be any dogs dream vacation, endless acres to roam, unlimited treats, other dogs to play with, a warm bed to sleep on. For the most part Winnie enjoyed going to the farm until one day, when I was laid off for a couple months, and she spent those two months with me going for long walks and hanging out. When I got the call to go back to work, Doug was the one who needed to drive Winnie back to the farm until my shift was over. Well Doug stopped for a coffee, Winnie crawled in the driver seat took a pee and then went back to the backseat. That is how Winnie has been her whole life, albeit stubborn but for the most part a pretty good dog. By the time she was three I was no longer working shift work and she had permanent residence.
Winnie is now eleven years old and is living her best life sleeping on the couch and waking up for dinner and breakfast. She goes on as many walks as she can as she still enjoys the daily ritual even though they are much shorter than she used to endure.
